Cutting the cord

My windows 8.1 desktop just crashed 3 times in 40 minutes, fails to print, fails to upgrade, or update, and just plain isn't linux.  Why do I still have Windows?  Hmm...maybe after tonight I won't.  I think I'm finally going to try to cut the final cord.  Step one back up, step two, part ways with Sony Vegas (goodbye old friend).
